2007 Teen Sessions

Teen Sessions will be held across the street from the Convention Center at the Springfield Expo Center

A young boy spent many hours building a little sailboat.  He then took it to a nearby river to sail it.  When he put it in the water it began to move away from him very quickly.  The he chased it along the bank; he couldn’t keep up with it.  The strong wind and current carried the boat away. The heartbroken boy knew how hard he would have to work to build another sailboat. 

Farther down the river, a man found the little boat, took it to town, and sold it to a shopkeeper.  Later that day, as the boy was walking through town, he noticed the boat in a store window.  Entering that store, he told the owner that the boat belonged to him, but he couldn’t prove it.  The shopkeeper told him the only way he could get the boat was to buy it.  The boy wanted it back so badly that he did exactly that. 

As he took the boat form the hand of the shopkeeper, he looked at it and said, “Little boat, you’re twice mine, I made you and I bought you.” 

In the same way, we are God’s twice.  He created us and was so consumed with us that He sent Christ to the cross to pay for our sins!  And yet so often we ignore this God who is so passionately in love with us for things that truly don’t matter.  It is my hope that this weekend will help you rekindle you love with Christ.  And that you return to your communities CONSUMED with only one thing:  Jesus!

TEEN SESSIONS- EXHIBIT HALL C 

Our main speaker is Matt Proctor.  Matt is profoundly gifted in his preaching and teaching ministry. Through his nine years in the classroom at OCC, he has multiplied himself in the many effective spokesmen for God that have been raised up, trained and sent out. He is a popular-level preacher who is regularly featured at Christ in Youth conferences. His chapel sermons and devotions are "events" on campus. His peers in leadership have often remarked, "He sounds presidential when he preaches." He articulates the vision with uncommon perception and effectiveness.

Frontline is OCC's newest traveling team consisting of a worship band equipped to lead worship at youth conferences, church camp, or adult revival.  Over the past several years, Frontline has led thousands into God's throne room while also teaching other musicians more about their specific area of ministry.

 

With a modern, energetic sound and authentic leadership, Frontline has helped thousands of people experience dynamic worship.

Our Breakout leaders are all men of God who have been asked to help lead you in different areas that we all struggle with.  These men have been asked to speak on topics that fit them and their passions.  I’m confident that these breakouts will speak directly to your heart and give you a better understanding of God’s word!

If current trends continue, only 4% of your generation will be Christians by the time you have your 30th birthday!    Everyday in America 1,106 teenage girls have abortions; everyday 6 teenagers lose their life to suicide.  These are just a few of the battles being waged for the souls of our teens…YOU!  It is time that the church stops squabbling over the color of the carpet, and join together to GO!  Are you ready?
