David Bycroft grew up on a farm near Roseville, Illinois. He attended Ozark Christian College and graduated in 1971.
In 1969, David married Kathy Betts. They have three children. Krista is married to Brian Thomason. Brian and Krista serve as youth ministers at Pittsburg, Kansas. Matthew is the preaching minister in Iola, Kansas where he and his wife, Jennifer, are planting a new church. Luke and his wife, Stephanie, live in Joplin where Luke is a student at Ozark Christian College.
For the past 31 years, David has been the evangelist at the Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, Kansas. His first two years were part-time while attending Ozark Christian College. Upon graduation, he was hired full time. Over the past 31 years the Lord has blessed the church with growth from an average of 40 to 800 in worship each Sunday. Tyro is a community of 250 people.
David preaches several revivals each year and speaks at conventions and seminars – especially concerning church growth in small towns. David currently serves as a trustee for Ozark Christian College
Tyro presently has 22 men or women raised in the Tyro Christian Church who are involved in full time ministry, and another six who are preparing for a life in ministry for the Lord.
